At CASAMAR we celebrate love not only on Valentine’s Day, but also on a daily basis; Like the family that we are and that we have adopted, we are based on tolerance, respect and a lot of love. Both the residents and the staff make up a huge and loving family. From pampering our residents to the couples who live in our house.

And speaking of couples. One of our most loving couples who live in CASAMAR are Mr. Otis and Mrs. Patty, they both arrived with us a year ago and from the beginning they felt at home. As if two old friends had returned from a long trip. When they arrived, a few weeks later they celebrated 64 years of marriage, and although they were still not familiar with all the staff, it was an incredible celebration. You can tell how much they love each other from the way they turn to see each other; how they look at each other, how they smile and how they take care of themselves.

When Patty has trouble holding her utensils while eating, Otis is always there to help. And sometimes you can hear Otis tell memories they made together and laugh when remembering the beautiful times they had.

It is nice to live next to each of the seniors, getting to know them more every day when they tell us stories from their youth, when they tell us about the places they visited and give us life advice based on their experiences. We both see them, and they see us as a big family.

We try to make our residents feel at home, because this is their home, and we are just the people who help them have a calmer life. So, talking to them, accompanying them, joking and playing is part of our daily lives. Celebrating each birthday of both staff and residents but spending it all together is one of the characteristics of our home.

Love can be seen in different shapes, colors and ages. It comes from each with our nuclear family, to the environment where we operate with the family that we ourselves create. Whether at work, at school. Love is not painted in one way; it is not written in the same type of letter. The family we choose, the one we adopted or adopted us, is just as important as the one we grew up with. Because at CASAMAR we are together all day, sharing life stories, creating memories, telling anecdotes.
